"Man is nothing else but what he makes of himself."--Jean Paul Sartre
What's going on with me now, you ask?
I am currently applying to doctoral programs in clinical psychology. I am aiming for my Ph.D., and my research interests are in behavior disorders, developmental child and adolescent psychopathology, and juvenile delinquency. I know, I have many interests, but they are all inter-related. I think I would like to remain in academia to further conduct research and teach, but I am also thinking about psychotherapy. I believe that I don't have to decide on a career yet; I'm going to let that path develop itself while in grad school. Wish me luck!!
Well, I recently graduated in December: with honors! Now, I'm going to relax!! I have a job in Athens with Advantage Behavioral Health. I am the new behavioral aide, and I will be doing recreational therapy with children with psychopathic disorders. I am very excited! I will continue to volunteer my time and work on the Parent-Child Interaction project with Dr. Kimberly Shipman throughout the next semester.
However, in the spring of 2001, I will be helping my sister and sister-in-law with their newborns. My sister, Debra, is due near my birthday in March, and Shayna is due in mid-April. How exciting!!
This summer I will be trampling around Europe with a couple of friends. I plan to do the Hemingway thing in Spain, minus the gun. A few of the major stops on our list are: Buddapest, Prague, Denmark, Ireland, and of course Amsterdam.
So, those are my current plans. I'll keep you updated.
